Kite Painting Workshop

Let Your Creativity Soar: Kite Painting Workshop!

Colour your kite using paint or crayons, then colour your sky and watch your masterpiece soar!

Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop where children and families can design and build their very own flying art. In this workshop, you’ll be customizing a classic Eddy DIY kite—the iconic, time-tested diamond shape beloved by flyers of all ages.

Not only does this classic design fly beautifully in light and medium breezes, but it also comes equipped with three vibrant, multi-coloured stripe tails designed to keep it stable and steady even if the wind picks up.

*Please note: Bring your own crayons, colouring pencils, or colouring markers with you — these are not provided.

Kite Flying Workshop / Demonstration

Ever wanted to try your hand at kite flying? Now’s your chance! Join us on Sunday, August 3rd at the stunning Black Castle for a fun and uplifting experience with a kite flying experts from Kites Ireland.

Harness the powerful energy of the Wicklow wind as you learn the art of getting your kite airborne, keeping it soaring, and maybe even trying a few tricks! Perfect for all ages — whether you’re a total beginner or just haven’t flown one in years.

Time: 12 AM – 3PM

Cost: Another Free event! Just bring your curiosity (and a kite if you have one — we’ll have a few to share too!)

Join us for the spectacular Fireworks Display, lighting up the night sky over Wicklow Harbour on August 2nd at 11PM, launched from the New Pier. 🌊🎇

Raft Race

🚨💦 The Infamous Regatta Raft Race is BACK! 💦🚨

Think you’ve got the brains, the brawn, and the banter to take on Wicklow’s wildest water challenge? 🌊💪

💡 Are you creative? 🏄‍♂️ Love water sports? 🏆 Fiercely competitive but always up for a laugh?

Then it’s time to rally your crew, sketch your masterplan, and start building the ultimate raft for this year’s Regatta Raft Race! 🔨🛶

The madness kicks off in the harbour on August 2nd at 3PM — it’s one of the BIGGEST highlights of the Wicklow Regatta Festival and always guarantees plenty of thrills, spills, and laughs for participants and spectators alike! 🎉

RULES:

Rafts must be constructed from unaltered 40 gallon steel or plastic drums

They should not consist of more than 8 drums

No covering or streamlining will be allowed on the submerged or underwater section of the raft

Paddles/Oars should be used for propulsion and can be supplemented by sails

No mechanical means of propulsion may be used.

Not more than 2 swimmers at any one time may push the raft

Swimmers (pushers) may not wear flippers

Raft Crew must not consist of more than 6 people. This number includes swimmers or pushers

All Competitors MUST wear life jackets

Splash Sunday

💦🌊 Get ready to MAKE A SPLASH this Splash Sunday! 🌊💦

Get ready for a day of water-filled fun on August 2nd — you won’t want to miss a moment!

🚤 A big thank you to our friends at Brittas Bay Surf School for offering paddle-boarding sessions! Keen to give it a go? Just show up from 10am — it’s first come, first served.

Sailing – Come along to Splash Sunday and try your hand at sailing! Meet us at the Boat Park, with 30-minute sessions running from 10am. Each slot is limited to a maximum of 12 people, so advance booking is essential.

To reserve your place, email admin@wicklowsailing.com with your contact name, phone number and the number of people in your party.

If you don’t have a wetsuit, please wear old clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. Get ready to make a splash and enjoy some fun on the water!

All activities will take place at the slipway right beside the Sailing Club.
